Ravenna is a beautiful, tiny little city that is known for its mosaics. They are 1500 years old (and older) and are in near-perfect condition! The churches have exteriors that are simple and unassuming, but the interiors are in-cred-i-ble. Most people visit Ravenna as a day trip from Venice, but we were here because Paul lived here in 2005. He showed me around and we ate some amazing piadina ... I tried the fig and brie version. Mmmm, so so good!
The last photos (after the photo of Paul) are of our last night in Bologna. We hiked a really gorgeous church call San Luca that passes 666 porticoes on the way up. It was a stunning view from the top, and a great way to spend our last night in the area.
