Lake Como was a sight to see. The large villas on the waterfront were spectacular and we enjoyed walking along the shore. We took a funicular ride to the top and enjoyed views from there, too. The city of Como is where we stayed, which is at the very most southern tip of the lake.
The Council of Trent happened right here in this city. If you're not sure what that is, google it because it is a huge part of the history of the Catholic church. Anyway, this city is nestled against the Dolomite mountains and is absolutely beautiful ... and tiny.
Milan is incredible! I mean, look at this Duomo. Each and every inch of this cathedral is sculpted to perfection with such care to the details. Paul and I enjoyed walking around the interior and then walked to the top to see the view.
Verona is an incredible city with an artistic history. Verona has an ancient Roman amphitheatre that is still used today, which I found pretty fascinating. Another cool fact about the city of Verona is that Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet is set here. There is an entire 'piazza dell amore' where people come to etch their names ... complete with a balcony! It's pretty fun to see it. Also, buildings have murals all over them from hundreds and hundreds of years ago, which is so unique.
Love this place. Loved the views and the atmosphere and the food.
