This wedding was sooooooo incredible. Seriously. So much time and effort went in to the decor at the reception and the beautiful details throughout the whole day. Hand-written signs, perfect floral arrangements, musical numbers, etc. Brooke even had two dresses, one for the ceremony and one for dancing. Both dresses were made by the lovely Penelope.

Brooke and Parker executed this day with absolute perfection.

Wow ... Lindsey makes such a beautiful bride. And Kirk, well, he's just the perfect match for her. These two are so great together. Memory Grove holds a special place in their hearts so that was the first location to the bridal shoot. They have a bench there and everything! These two were so adventurous that they actually climbed a tree in their wedding attire! I was impressed to say the least. We finished at Pineview Reservoir, which was a perfect setting for the evening.

This little guy is my nephew, James, and last I saw him was when he was four months old. Now James is walking, babbling, laughing, dancing, and even rests his head against me to snuggle. James has eight teeth .... he's growing up so fast! He'll be one in just a few weeks!

Watching James eat was one of the cutest things I've seen in a while. He'd make funny faces if it was too hot/cold, he'd feed the begging dog down below, and he was shrieking like a maniac, and it was absolutely adorable. I realized that while he was getting his daily nourishment, I was being nourished by his sweet personality and sweetness.

I honestly cannot express how much fun this wedding was! Landon came out of the Temple practically beaming, saying over and over "how cool" being married is. These two were so happy it was contagious. Constant smiles and lots of laughs!

I love Beth and Landon. Aaaaand .... if you're looking for a videographer definitely check out their website. They are a creative team (both in their work and in their style) and I promise they'll make your shoot a breeze. They are a great, great couple.

Today my sister Sarah is moving to Brisbane, Australia. Her new husband has a new job at a mine there, which is prompting the move. What an experience! I'm entirely envious of Sarah ... of the adventures she'll have, the people she'll meet, the places she'll see, and the cultural experience she'll never forget. I am looking forward to this chapter in their lives and I can't wait to visit them in the not-too-distant future.

Before I get in to this wedding I want to tell you about Bethany and her dress. Bethany made her dress. Yup. As in needle and thread sewing. The best part? She had never before made one thing in her life. I didn't believe it either until she told me the entire story. It's amazing. This girl needs to be interviewed, or something, because she did a spectacular job. The materials she used were 1) an anthropologie shower curtain for the bottom portion and 2) her Grandmother's lace from her original wedding dress for the top portion. Seriously incredible.

Bethany & Kimball had the sweetest, simplest wedding. No cake, no dancing, no bouquet/garter toss. Just a simple ceremony and a greeting line to see their guests. It was beautiful for so many reasons. Bethany & Kimball are so kind, so precious to one another. It was beyond obvious to me and I had just met them! I couldn't be happier they chose me to document their day.

Have you ever gone to a restaurant that is centered around meatballs only? Seriously, check out their menu. It's incredible and very unique. If you're ever in the area, I highly suggest you go there. My personal fave were the sliders, but only because they are so darn cute.

Touring Philadelphia is a breeze. All the noteworthy historical sites are about 1 mile apart from one another. The city is pedestrian friendly, which was nice after the long drive there. Walking everywhere is entirely doable. Also, we received a great tip that the best Philly Cheesesteak in the downtown area is located on 3rd and Market Street. I can attest that is truly was amazing!

Niagara Falls

For about one year straight I became obsessed with seeing the falls. Something about them intrigued me .... a lot. I decided that while Paul and I were touring upstate New York we may as well head over a bit more to see them. Niagara Falls is absolutely beautiful, especially Goat Island which offers some incredibly unique views of the river and the falls.

I loved the falls and I'm glad I saw them.

Palmyra, NY

The city of Palmyra is the birthplace of the LDS church. This past October my husband and I decided to travel there to see the historical sites and enjoy upstate New York, which is incredible. The sites we saw were the E.B. Grandin Buildng, the Palmyra LDS Temple, Joseph Smith's home, the Sacred Grove, and the Hill Cumorah.

... I am photographing the wedding of Jamie and Ryan, two of my favorite people. Jamie is a dear friend of mine. Not only did we grow up together here in SLC, but we both went on to the same photography school (The Brooks Institute of Photography). We lived down the street from one another and were practically inseparable. She invited me along to many of her photo adventures and truly helped me develop my own love for photography.

I am so happy to show this wedding I photographed in June in Santa Barbara, CA. The ceremony and reception was held at the Santa Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, which is such a beautiful location. The bride got ready at the home owned by Babcock Vintner, who is the owner of the Babcock Winery (which you see pictured first). The whole wedding day was quite perfect in every way.

Adriana and Jason are two of the two most genuine people I have ever met! Truly. I just couldn't believe how sweet they are to one another, their family, and their friends.

Loved the Utah State Fair! I went opening day about two hours after it opened so the vendors were still setting up (many of them) so this was about all there was to see. I may have to go back in the evening on another day this week to see what other fun things I can find.

Emerson's Birth Story

Photographing baby Emerson's birth has to be one of the most magical moments for me .... ever. While I was photographing the mother in labor I felt so empowered that women can do this, that women can give birth and that women do it all the time. It opened my eyes to the beauty of motherhood, the beauty of pain, and the beauty of love.

Seattle is a beautiful city! I am truly in love ........... It's true that I experienced nothing but sunshine and warmth on my trip BUT now I know why it is so charming. The city is set on a series of hills which makes for incredible views no matter where you are, the neighborhoods are delightful and the homes are picturesque, the food is spectacular, and the atmosphere there is relaxed and happy.

Here's a great story about these moose .... I was photographing a bridal shoot and we heard some rustling in the bushes near us. All the sudden these two moose came out about 10 feet behind us! We ran like the wind back to the car, caught our breath, then I snapped this photograph before we hightailed it out of there. Such a funny experience! I've never seen a bride in 4 inch heels run so fast .... !!!

Another amazing wedding here in Salt Lake City, UT. The ceremony was at the SLC LDS Temple and the reception was held at the Memorial House in Memory Grove. Carolyn May did the flowers ... I posted the flowers HERE. It was the perfect night in April. It was even the same night as the royal wedding so they had a horse drawn carriage exit. Lots and lots of fun!
